An adventure called EVS: aprile 2016

Ciao a tutti!

È passato più di un mese dal mio ultimo aggiornamento, ma tranquilli, sono sempre qui!

La mia esperienza, che è iniziata ormai più di tre mesi fa, sta andando molto bene.

Izmir ormai mi ha rubato il cuore, e nonostante faccia ancora fatica a non perdermi, posso dire di sentirmi completamente a casa (in fondo, anche a Torino e perfino Villardora mi perdo con una facilità estrema!). In questo mese sono venuti a trovarmi i miei genitori, ed è stato bello viverci la città insieme. Penso che la loro prima volta in Turchia sia stata entusiasmante e interessante; finalmente hanno potuto vedere la mia casa e i luoghi in cui vivo quotidianamente. Cosa per me più importante, hanno conosciuto le persone per me più preziose, con cui sto condividendo questo magico periodo della mia vita.
Mia mamma ha imparato qualche parola di turco (a volte con ottimi risultati e altre con qualche figuraccia annessa) e per il resto ha cercato di comunicare a gesti e sorrisi. Mio papà ha sfoggiato il suo inglese (che ha sorpreso anche me) e si è beccato qualche complimento dai miei amici per quanto sembra giovane.
Ora manca solo più mio fratello, che spero venga in estate, in modo da goderci anche un po’ di mare insieme!

Nel frattempo il tempo migliora sempre di più, tanto che ieri siamo andati al mare e mi sono fatta il primo bagno della stagione 2016.

Il lavoro continua ad andare bene, la scadenza del 26 aprile per i progetti Erasmus plus mi ha dato la possibilità di scrivere il primo progetto SVE; insieme alla mia dolce Gulcin e grazie all’aiuto e supporto dei nostri coordinatori Hamza e Ayse, abbiamo cercato di fare del nostro meglio.. ora aspettiamo con ansia la risposta dall’ Agenzia Nazionale. È stato interessante e in alcuni momenti impegnativo, di sicuro un’esperienza formativa che mi ha insegnato e mi sta insegnando tutt’ora come svolgere questo lavoro, quali sono le cose più importanti da fare, la burocrazia da seguire ecc. (si, ovviamente ne abbiamo ancora di strada da fare per imparare tutto e migliorare).
Intanto stiamo pensando, con altri volontari dell’associazione, di scrivere un altro progetto per la prossima scadenza; sto imparando cosa vuol dire lavorare in un team, condividendo idee e opinioni, dividendosi i compiti in modo da poter essere il più operativi possibile. L’idea c’è, lo staff pure e quindi via, partiamo anche con questa esperienza!

Se tutto va bene a breve arriverà anche una nuova volontaria, e la speranza è quella di poter essere ancora più attivi e creativi con il suo aiuto.

Insomma, tutto sta procedendo bene.
Spero che presto anche altri parenti e amici verranno a trovarmi.. la nostalgia comincia a farsi sentire un po’, e nonostante l’idea di tornare in Italia per ora non mi sia ancora passata per la testa (:P), mi piacerebbe ospitare presto qualcun altro (aprite le orecchie e prenotate i biglietti, forza).

Continuo a ringraziare i miei dolci amici di qui, con cui sto vivendo le mie giornate e serate, momenti bellissimi e divertenti che nel loro piccolo, nella loro semplicità, mi stanno regalando memorie indimenticabili; non li nomino tutti ma sono sicura che sanno perfettamente che sto parlando di loro. Le corse sul lungo mare, i week end fuoriporta, le semplici serate passate a casa a guardare video stupidi, bere cay, fumare narghilè, discutere e ridere con i miei coinquilini.. ogni cosa diventa sempre più importante e speciale per me e sono sicura che tutto ciò rimarrà nel mio cuore per sempre!

Ps: il primo test di turco l’ho passato con 83/100 punti! (ora devo solo cominciare a parlarlo di più!)

Hello everybody!

More than one month passed from my last update, but don’t worry, I’m still here!

My experience, that started more than 3 months ago, is going very well.

Antakya

By now, Izmir is in my heart and, even though it’s still difficult for me not to get lost, I can say that I completely feel at home (in Turin and even in Villardora I usually get lost so easily!).
This month, my parents came to visit me, it was very nice enjoying the city with them. I think their first time in Turkey was interesting and exciting; finally they could see my house and the places in which I spend my daily life. More important thing, they met the most precious people for me, with whom I’m sharing this magic period of my life.
My mum learnt some Turkish words (sometime with great results, sometime not!) and tried to communicate smiling or by gesture. My dad showed off his English (that surprised also me!) and received some compliments thanks how young he seems.
Now just my brother is missing, and I hope he will come in summer, so we can enjoy the seaside together!

Conversation club

Meanwhile weather is getting better and better, yesterday we also went to the seaside and I had the first bath of the season 2016.

The job is going on well, the 26 April’s deadline for the Erasmus + projects gave me the chance to write the first EVS project; with my dear Gulcin and thanks to the help of our coordinators Hamza and Ayse, we tried to do our best.. now we just have to wait the National Agency’s answer. It has been interesting and sometimes challenging, for sure an experience that taught and is teaching me how to do this job, which are the most important things to do, the bureaucracy and processes to follow etc. (yes, obviously I still have to learn and improve so much!)
Meanwhile, with some other volunteers of our association, we are thinking to write another project for next deadline; I’m learning how to work in a team, sharing opinions and ideas, cooperating in order to get the best results. We have the idea, we have the staff and so.. let’s try also this other experience!

If everything will go well, a new volunteer will come soon, and I hope this will help us to be more and more active and creative.

So, everything is proceeding well.
I hope that soon also other relatives and friends will visit me.. I’m starting to feel a bit of homesickness and, also if the idea to come back to Italy didn’t come to my mind (:P), I would like to host soon someone else (listen to me and book the tickets, c’mon!).

I want to thanks all my sweet friends here, with whom I’m spending my days and nights, beautiful and funny moments that are creating unforgettable memories; I can’t mention everybody here but I’m sure that they perfectly know that I’m speaking about them. The walks along the seaside, the outdoors weekends, the simple nights spent at home watching stupid video on youtube, drinking cay, smoking narghilè, arguing and laughing with my flatmates.. everything is getting more important and special for me and I’m sure all will stay in my heart forever.
