An adventure called EVS: maggio 2016

Here I am, back after 2 weeks of a “tour the force” around Turkey!
Great experiences..and great places!
But let’s start from the beginning..

Antalya

My hosting association gave me the chance to attend a training course and a Symposium, the first one in Antalya and the second in Kayseri.. so, 9^TH of may I packed my luggage and took the plane to Antalya, one of the most touristic city in Turkey. On the seaside, with long beaches, sun and blue sky.. could I miss such an opportunity?!
Before the activity’s start, I enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing day, lying on the sand, tanning and making my friend invidious!
On Monday night I met all the participants and the three trainers with whom I shared the all experience.
“E-waves”, this the name of the project, was an opportunity to learn and practice so many information and skills useful for who is working in the field of youth mobility, Erasmus Plus, NGO or project writing in general.
Our fantastic trainers, Antonio, Aytac and Nuno, had been able to teach us a lot in the most interesting and funny way possible.
Even though we had, outside of the meeting rooms, pools, beaches and coffee bars, every day I woke up smiling, ready to attend the activities, discuss and cooperate with the other 18 participants.
We went also to visit EXPO 2016, that was around 30 minutes far from our hotel.
It was an opportunity to meet new people from different nationalities and organizations, and also to re-meet some EVSers that I already knew.. our days were really full, but anyway we had the chance to enjoy the pools, the sea and the karaoke bar!
Beyond the new friends that I met and the nice place that I visited, this experience was really useful for me because of the subjects that the trainers tried to teach us.. I’m sure I will use it working with my association and (why not?) in my future working life (at least I would like!)

The 15^TH of may I came back to Izmir, just to welcome the new volunteer from Romania and to wash some clothes to put again in my bag, and the 16^TH at night I left again, direction Kayseri!
There, we participated to an International Symposium about Youth Employment.
Three days of conferences and workshops in which, together with 200 participants from 33 different nationalities, we discussed about challenges, problems and solutions about youth employment (better, unemployment!). It was another interesting and formative experience (maybe, in my opinion, bit less useful then the Antalya project). Obviously also here I didn’t miss the chance to meet new people and improve my network for my future!

As a perfect conclusion of this two weeks, from Kayseri I went two days to the beautiful, wonderful and amazing region of Kapadokya! What can I say.. I guess the pictures are enough to understand what I mean... it was a paradise for my eyes!

Antalya e Kayseri, due esperienze che non dimenticherò!

Eccomi, rientrata da poco da due settimane di tour de force in giro per la Turchia!
Che esperienze ragazzi, e che posti!
Ma partiamo dal principio..

La mia Hosting association mi ha dato la possibilità di partecipare a un Training Course e a un Symposium, il primo ad Antalya e il secondo a Kayseri.. così, il 9 maggio, ho preso armi e bagagli e sono partita per Antalya, una delle città più turistiche della Turchia. Sul mare, con immense spiagge, sole e cielo azzurro..
Vuoi mica perderti un Training Course in una città del genere?!
Prima dell’inizio delle attività, mi sono goduta una fantastica giornata di relax su una delle spiagge di fronte l’hotel, iniziando così ad abbronzarmi per l’estate e suscitando un po’ di invidia a chi è rimasto a casa!
Lunedì sera ho incontrato tutto il gruppo di partecipanti e i tre trainers con cui abbiamo condiviso l’intera settimana. “E-waves”, questo il nome del corso, è stata un’occasione per imparare e mettere in pratica un sacco di informazioni e abilità utili per chi lavora nel campo della mobilità giovanile, Erasmus Plus, ONG o in generale nella scrittura di progetti di vario genere.
I nostri fantastici trainers, Antonio, Aytac e Nuno, sono stati capaci di trasmetterci un sacco di informazioni nel modo più interessante e divertente possibile. Pur avendo a disposizione, fuori dalle aule, piscine, spiagge e bar, ogni giorno mi alzavo col sorriso, pronta a partecipare alle attività organizzate, a discutere e collaborare con gli altri 18 partecipanti.
Siamo anche riusciti a visitare EXPO 2016, che si trovava proprio a una mezz’oretta dal nostro hotel!
È stata un’occasione per conoscere un po’ di persone nuove, di differenti nazionalità e organizzazioni, e anche di re-incontrare alcuni altri SVE che già conoscevo.. abbiamo avuto le giornate sempre pienissime, dove però non sono mancati momenti di svago al mare, in piscina o al karaoke bar!
Al di là dei nuovi amici e dei bellissimi posti visti, questa esperienza mi è stata molto utile per i contenuti che i trainers hanno cercato di trasmetterci..sono sicura che userò tutto ciò nel lavoro che farò con la mia associazione e, perché no, anche nella mia futura vita lavorativa (almeno mi piacerebbe!)

Il 15 maggio sono rientrata, ho avuto giusto il tempo di accogliere la nuova volontaria arrivata dalla Romania e di lavare due vestiti da rimettere in valigia, per ripartire il 16 notte alla volta di Kayseri.
Qui, abbiamo partecipato a un simposio internazionale sull’occupazione giovanile.
Sono stati tre giorni di conferenze e workshop in cui, insieme ad altri 200 partecipanti di 33 differenti nazionalità, si è discusso su sfide, problematiche e soluzioni riguardo l’occupazione (o meglio, disoccupazione) giovanile. È stata un’altra esperienza formativa (secondo me un po’ meno rispetto al precedente training course) e interessante. Ovviamente anche qui l’occasione per conoscere nuove persone e ampliare il proprio network di contatti per il futuro, non è mancata!

Per concludere queste due settimane, da Kayseri mi sono spostata per due giorni nella bella, magnifica, favolosa Cappadocia! Che dire.. penso che vi bastino le foto per capire quello che intendo.. è stato un paradiso per i miei occhi!
